Acceptance of Terms
By downloading or using BrewTinker, you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the app.
Description of Service
BrewTinker is a personal coffee brewing record and analysis app. It helps you:
- Record brew parameters and sensory tasting results.
- Reuse coffee beans, recipes, and past records.
- Compare controlled experiments.
- Export records for backups, spreadsheet reviews, or external regression analysis.
- Optionally connect compatible BLE brewing devices for local weight and temperature readings.
The app is local-first: no account and no internet connection are required to use it.
Purchases and BrewTinker Pro
BrewTinker Pro is an optional upgrade offering a single product via the App Store:
- Lifetime Pro, a one-time non-consumable purchase.
There are no subscriptions. Lifetime Pro does not renew automatically and will never charge you again. Localized prices are shown before purchase via Apple App Store and StoreKit interfaces.
Current Pro benefits include:
- Home Screen widgets for brew statistics and coffee bean freshness.
- Shortcuts to start brewing or open Brew Log.
- Multiple grinder and dripper profiles.
Core brewing, records, experiments, recipe forks, and manual export remain available without Pro.
Purchases, refunds, payment methods, taxes, and Family Sharing are handled by Apple App Store systems and policies. To refresh entitlement status, use Restore Purchases.
Accounts and Cloud Services
BrewTinker has no accounts, no sign-in, and no cloud sync. You do not need to create or provide credentials to use any part of the app, and your records are not stored on our servers.
If a future version introduces accounts or cloud features, those features will be governed by updated terms and privacy disclosures before release.
Bluetooth Device Support
BLE device support is optional. Compatibility may vary depending on device model, firmware, and iOS environment.
Current direct Bluetooth data is limited to weight and temperature. Flow-rate graphs are derived locally from saved weight readings, not a separate BLE sensor stream.
Local Notifications and Widgets
Daily reminders are local notifications scheduled on your device. BrewTinker does not operate a push notification service.
Widgets may use data stored locally in the app sandbox or App Group container to display compact summaries.
Your Content
You retain ownership of the brew records, notes, recipes, bean data, and optional photos you create or import in BrewTinker.
You are responsible for any content you export or share.
Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
- Use the app for illegal activities.
- Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the app (except where permitted by law).
- Scrape or automatically extract app content in a way that violates applicable laws.
- Misrepresent exported data or device compatibility claims.
Intellectual Property
The app, code, design, trademarks, and bundled content are owned by or licensed to BrewTinker. You receive a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the app for personal purposes.
Disclaimer of Warranties
BrewTinker is provided "as is" without warranty of any kind.
Coffee advice, brewing parameters, flow-rate curves, experiment comparisons, and exported analysis fields are informational tools. Taste and extraction outcomes depend on beans, water chemistry, grinder, equipment, technique, and measurement quality.
We do not guarantee:
- The app will be error-free or uninterrupted.
- BLE readings will be available from every third-party hardware model.
- Exported data is sufficient for every statistical method.
- Suggested brewing adjustments will always improve cup flavor.
Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, BrewTinker is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including data loss or failure of expected results.
Changes to Terms
We may update these terms. Material changes will be synchronized inside the app and on this site before release.
